Welcome to Eurovision Norwich. Here you'll find everything you need to know (and lot's of stuff you don't) about Eurovision - all from my own personal perspective.

The website was originally set up to promote the annual fundraising Eurovision Party that we held in Norwich to raise funds for The Railway Children Charity and which I helped to organise. Although I'd like to have followed up my attendance at the 2011 contest with a vist to the 2012 junket in Baku, Azerbaijan, I underwent heart surgery at Papworth Hospital that year, so travelling to the 2012 contest was always going to be out of the question unfortunately .But we did party in Norwich on Eurovision Final
Night, 26th May, as I co-hosted a viewing of the show live from Baku on the big
screen at Cinema City in aid of Norwich Pride and Children in Need. More
details are in the Blog archive.
Having made a good recovery, I was happily back in
action in time to attend the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in
Amsterdam, and then Eurovision 2013 in Malmö, and subsequent Contests in
Copenhagen, Vienna and Stockholm, and you can read about my experiences in the blog archive. I
didn't attend the 2013 Junior Contest, but I was covering the 2014
Junior Contest in Malta, Bulgaria in 2015 and back again in Malta in 2016..

Once again last year, while I was working hard in the Press Centre over in Stockholm, you were able to dance the night away at the Charity Eurovision Party held in Norwich. And now attention turns to the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. I'm not attending this year, but will be busy working on editing audio and video material at home from my colleagues on location, and I'm presenting a 3-hour edition of Radio International, as well as going to this year's Norwich Eurovision Party.
There's a photo gallery and a brief biography plus a guestbook on the site too so it would be great if you left a message so I know who's been looking at all this rubbish .. err .. I mean .. these high class pieces of incisive journalism! Enjoy - and please do leave some feedback - it's always good to hear from you!
I am also pleased to be associated, as supposed Eurovision expert, with 'Pride Live' on Future Radio - Norwich Pride's regular and wide ranging weekly radio showcase, broadcasting live every Monday from 19.00 to 20.00 and available to listen to both locally and worldwide via live web streaming, via the TuneIn app and via podcast. Normally, you'll find my own special Eurovision programmes in that slot on Bank Holiday Mondays through the year. Click the logo for further details and links.
You can also find me making a weekly contribution by way of the 'Covers Spot' to the regular Wednesday evening Eurovision show on Radio International, broadcasting (in English) live from the Netherlands each week between 19.00 and 22.00 UK time. Occasionally, I even get to host the whole show! To go to the dedicated website for links to the live stream, and for the archive of past shows, just click the Radio International logo above. Show host 'JP' also runs a Eurovision blog which you can find here.
My 'Eurovision Covers Spot' for Radio International now runs to nearly 200 editions and you can find an archive of many of my contributions to Future Radio and to Radio International on my Mixcloud page by clicking on the logo below:
